As dawn broke over Rehoboth Beach off Park Avenue, the stretch of sand lay silent and untouched—rippled only by the first gentle waves and the promise of a busy day to come. High above, my drone framed two lifeguards at their stand, umbrella raised, rescue tubes ready and eyes scanning the calm blue expanse. Down below, early swimmers waded in and a lone sunbather stretched at the water's edge, each element perfectly poised in that hushed morning light. The geometry of the stand against the wide-open sea, the disciplined stillness before the crowds arrive—it all felt sacred.
On Guard captures that precise, disciplined pause at the start of summer's rhythm: order maintained by vigilant watch, the quiet heartbeat before laughter, splashes, and footprints multiply.

PAPER
