As a thunderstorm rolled in over Dewey Beach at sunset, the sky ignited with a fiery glow, casting an intense contrast between golden-hour light and the storm's darkening clouds. The wind howled, nearly knocking me off balance as I stepped out of my car, but amidst the chaos, I spotted a lone kite surfer carving through the choppy Atlantic. With conditions this powerful, I knew I had only moments to capture the shot before he brought his kite down.
"Storm Surfer" encapsulates the raw energy of Delaware's coastal weather—an unforgettable fusion of nature's fury and human determination. The off-season can bring quiet, predictable days, but this was one of those rare, electric moments where the elements aligned perfectly.
